In May 2002, Rev. Ken Reynard started his
ministry at Belper Baptist Church. For the previous 11 years, he
was minister at Central Baptist Church, Luton.
Ken's call to Belper Baptist Church was
been very clear and both he, his family and the church were
assured of God's
clear guidance during the time spent seeking the future
together.
Ken can be contacted by e-mail
or by telephone on 01773 821409
During
Ken's ministry in Belper, the church has grown dynamically.
Junior church has grown and regularly has up to 20 children
attending on a Sunday.
Different initiatives have been tried and
continued including Holiday Clubs and Friday Club.
Ken supports the different organisations
within the church, practically where he is able to and always in
prayer.
Since coming to Belper, the church has been
made more accessible, with the removal of the pews and levelling
the sloping floor.
Since 1998, Ken has been actively involved
in leading training conferences for Christian ministers in
Kenya. In February 2002 he had a 2 week trip to Kenya
that began with a few days in Nairobi. There he led a
conference in the Good News Church on "Jesus,
Discipleship and Community". From Nairobi, he went to
Kisumu on the shores of Lake Victoria for a three day
conference at the Victory Bible School, part of the Power of
Jesus Round the World church. About sixty church leaders
attended in all, including 3 Bishops. Ken went to Kenya
again in 2003, accompanied by one of the deacons, to
take part in further conferences. The contact with Kenya
continues, including visits by the minister of the church in
Kisumu during 2007 and a planned visit bact to Kenya during
2008.
Ken's faith in the living Jesus Christ has
led him to be committed to the community in which he lives
and to the wider world.
