Our baptistry is believed to have originally been one of the biggest in the country, holding around 1000 gallons of water.  The shelf area seen at the rear of the photograph used to be part of the baptistry, but at some time in its life, was filled in to reduce the volume of water required to around 750 gallons.

In 2006 a renovation of the baptistry took place, further reducing the amount of water required and improving the looks considerably (see next page).
