From Autumn 2006 through to Spring 2007, the church supported the Stop the Traffik campaign that was aimed at raising public and government awareness of the illegal trafficking of people, i.e. modern day slavery. Rev Ken Reynard took the bold step of having his ear pierced and having a Stop the Traffik key attached to his ear for the duration. He said "It's not something I want to do, but I believe that God has told me to do it." As a result, 2 other Baptist ministers around the country have done the same and many conversations have been started because people have asked about the earring.
